Partnerships and Volunteerism
Skills-based civic engagement and institutional collaboration embedded in everyday public systems.
Partners of the Americas
I am engaged with Partners of the Americas through both local and institutional volunteer roles. I am joining the Yucatán chapter to support small-scale, partnership-driven projects focused on civic participation, education, and inclusion. I have also served as a grant reader for the organization’s Washington office, reviewing proposals and contributing to funding decisions for hemispheric exchange and development initiatives.
This work emphasizes reciprocal collaboration, institutional learning, and practical project design rather than charity-based or extractive models.
Current and future work with Partners of the Americas will focus on small, practical pilot projects grounded in institutional partnership and community-identified needs.
Civic Mobility Data Collection (Bike Count)
I participated as a volunteer in a structured bicycle count conducted in Mérida, Yucatán in December 2025, in collaboration with IMDUT (Instituto de Movilidad y Desarrollo Urbano Territorial). This work involved systematic observation and documentation in public space to support data-informed transportation planning.
The project contributed to local efforts to better understand cycling patterns, infrastructure use, and safety needs, reinforcing the role of civic data collection as a form of public service and a foundation for more equitable urban mobility policy.
