Desire as Empire (forthcoming book)
My forthcoming book, Empire and Desire (tentatively accepted by University of Nebraska Press), explores how U.S. desires shaped Guatemala’s image abroad in the 1930s, staging Indigeneity as consumable while obscuring the machinery of empire.
